Participating in an ISES showcase event is always a pleasure – it gives us a change to spend time with some of the wedding and special event industry’s most talented and dedicated professionals! Wedding and event pros are some of the most social, talented, and innovative folks that we have had the pleasure of meeting, and something new and unique is always the result when we get together. Today’s ISES Napa-Sonoma Showcase is no exception! Many thanks to Gina Petersen Photography for sharing these photos with us!
These events are always incredibly collaborative, and give us a chance to try fresh ideas that we’d love to share with our clients. Encore Events Rentals was behind the styling for this event, inspired by the rustic industrial vibe of a new wine country venue, The Barlow in Sebastopol. The vaulted ceilings, concrete floor, and wooden interiors didn’t call for anything fussy or traditionally feminine, and we loved the look that Encore put together with wooden farm tables, metal chairs, and some of our bold, patterned linens! The combination of Ankara Metal, Niya Black and Ivory, and Houndstooth Runners looked perfect in the modern, industrial space, complemented by black goblets and pierced metal candle holders for dramatic tabletop decor. Aimee Lomeli Designs created low floral arrangements in soft yellow and dusty green – coxcomb and fiddlehead ferns added modern elements to the floral design that tied them in beautifully with the table decor! In the courtyard outside, cocktail tables set with Faux de Soie Citron linens held rustic metal lanterns and succulent arrangements, perfect for guests enjoying the food truck and local wineries!
When it comes to incredible wedding inspiration, Grey Likes Weddings is at the top of our list so when we were approached to provide linens for editor Summer Watkins’ wedding, we were thrilled! We’re just as happy to see her stunning wedding at Sunstone Vineyards & Winery, designed by Courtnie Purdy Fausner with gorgeous photos by Jen Huang is in the Winter Edition of Martha Stewart Weddings!
When Bride-to-be, Stylist, and Blogger Summer expressed an interest in our specialty linens for her wedding, it was clear that she had an incredible vision in mind. We loved watching that vision come together as we worked with her on linen selections – in keeping with her design for a crisp, classic wedding with preppy elements, she picked our appropriately named Summer Sugar linen! The luxuriously textured white linen was a gorgeous fit for Summer and Bryan’s chic and preppy wedding – their palette of emerald green and clean white paired beautifully with effusive coral, peach, and blush flowers by Lauryl Lane. An elegant swan motif was carried throughout their day – on their custom designed stationery designed by MaeMae & Co. and printed by Gus & Ruby Letterpress, in vintage bird shaped vessels on their dining tables, even fruit ice cubes floating in sparkling wine! The swan detailing was a perfect fit for their classic style, as well as symbolizing everlasting love. Summer even uses the swan as the signet for the Ladies’ Society of Matrimonial Finery on her blog!
Frequent NVLinens collaborator LVL Weddings & Events worked with Summer to plan each detail of the day – custom made boutonnieres with Bryan’s family crest, a ‘celebration station’ with noisemakers for guests to sound after the ceremony, even tiny bell escort cards for guests to ring when the bride and groom were announced! The wedding day wouldn’t have been complete without fabulous styling by the bride, of course! Bridesmaids picked their own blush gowns, but we have no doubt that professional stylist Summer had a hand in their wedding day looks. Her new husband looked dapper in a Hugo Boss tuxedo, while the bride herself was radiant in a custom Kirstie Kelly gown. Even her shoes were a perfect nod to their wedding day look, with chic green and white striped Badgley Mischka heels!
Today’s gorgeous Suite Retreat styled shoot brings the vibrant, colorful aesthetic of Palm Springs to Wine Country! Founder and CEO of Napa Valley Linens, Sharon Dexmier, was inspired by the clean lines of Palm Springs architecture coupled with the laid back elegance of Sonoma. Twin Palms proved the perfect blend of the two locations, with an airy, modern construction bordered by two enormous palm trees located in the heart of the Sonoma Valley. Sharon designed the shoot around a linen that we were just getting ready to debut, our Kate Wedgwood – the intricate ivory medallion on a soft blue field brought a fun print to the design without being fussy. Soulflower Floral Design captured the bright, Southern California hues of Palm Springs with bright coral peonies and yellow ranunculus, adding eclectic desert elements with pincushion protea and kumquat accents! Crisp while pillars and honeycomb vases kept the lines of our table decor clean and modern amongst the mix of prints and vibrant colors on the tabletop. We picked up the palette and patterns of the guest table in our cake display, with our blue on white Pippa Wedgwood print topped with a modern white wedding cake by The Whole Cake with delicately tinted ombre flowers in citrus shades of green and yellow.
The key to creating a truly stunning styled shoot lies in tying every aspect together – from the big picture down to the smallest of details. Our incredible collaborators – and our own work with textiles – allowed us to fabricate custom items to truly capture the spirit of the design that Sharon had in mind. We fabricated custom chair cushions from our geometric Pippa print, adding a wrap in the pattern to the place settings. Custom lounge pillows in our cheerful palette adorned the guests’ chairs as well as the lounge furniture set throughout the pool house. Stationers Olive-Route Design created bold escort cards, menus, and bar signs to complement our color scheme and pick up the interlocking patterns at the heart of our design. We are so grateful to photographer Angie Silvy Photography for capturing every detail of this amazing shoot!
Gita and Mark’s lovely Cornerstone Gardens wedding is the epitome of wine country elegance! This San Francisco based couple chose the Sonoma location for its juxtaposition of vineyard romance with dramatic art installations and modern amenities. Gita, an industrial designer, created the stationery suite that inspired their sophisticated yet sweet wedding palette. Mandy Scott Events worked with them for coordination and florals, bringing their stationery suite to life with romantic florals in rainwashed pastels. The soft garden-inspired floral arrangements worked beautifully with our Ankara Aquamarine linens, with its swirling pattern of pearly flourishes on a delicate aqua backdrop.
The large scale print of the Ankara pattern rendered in such delicate colors made for a serenely beautiful reception under the elegant canopy, along with Hartmann Studios’ natural oak chairs. Delicate floral arrangements in their pastel palette brought the surrounding gardens into the reception space, with low compote centerpieces in pale shades of pink, peach, ivory, and yellow. We’re so grateful to the incredibly talented Damion Hamilton Photography for sharing this wonderful wedding with us!
