Different cultures bring beautiful elements to celebrations. For Chinese weddings, working in traditional themes such as lotus blossoms, dragons for luck, the color red, and the double happiness symbol are always pretty to see. Some of our linens lend themselves perfectly for these occasions.

Lotus Red

Our striking Lotus Red, available as an 84″ square linen or a table runner, creates a perfect pop of color that ties in well to other red accents.

River

Our River Nude overlay is a beautiful choice when you want to add just a hint of romance. An excellent choice for a sweetheart or a cake table, use a pretty lamour linen underneath it to create different looks.

Next, create your cocktails using the Owl’s Brew tea mixers. Here are a few recipes from Wise Cocktails to get you started:

Sweet Nothings Toddy

Tea Base
1 1/4 teaspoons rooibos
1/2 teaspoon chopped vanilla bean
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cocktail
3 oz. brewed tea base
3 oz. milk
1 1/2 oz. bourbon
1 tablespoon sugar

Directions
Heat 6 oz. of water until hot, but not boiling, and pour into a heat safe container. In a tea linen or tea ball, combine all of the ingredients for the tea base. Brew in hot water for 5 minutes, gently agitating from time to time. Remove the tea sachet/ball.

Pour 3 oz. of the ta base into a saucepan. Add milk, bourbon and sugar. Let sit over low heat, stirring from time to time, for 5 minutes or until the sugar dissolves. Pour into a heat-safe mug and garnish with the a cinnamon stick and ground cinnamon.

Winter Soda

Simple Syrup
8 oz. Water
8 oz. Sugar

Tea Base
1 teaspoon green rooibos
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
3/4 teaspoon chopped dried apple
1/2 teaspoon fenugreek

Tea Soda
1 oz. tea simple syrup
6 oz. sparkling water

Directions
To make the simple syrup: Pour the 8 oz. of water into a pan and ring to a boil. Once the water boils, immediately stir in the sugar until the mixture is clear. You’ll use only 1 oz. per soda. Use a tea linen or place the green rooibos, ginger, apple and fenugreek directly in the pan with the simple syrup. Let sit for 1 hour, stirring from time to time. Remove the sachet or use a tea strainer to strain out the added ingredients. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.

Pour 1 oz. of the tea base-infused syrup into a glass over ice. Add 6 oz. of sparkling water and stir.

White Mule

Tea Base

1 teaspoon white tea leaves
1/2 teaspoon chopped lemongrass
1/2 teaspoon dried peach

Cocktail
3 1/2 oz. brewed tea base
3/4 tablespoon agave nectar
3 oz. ginger beer

Directions
In a cup, place 5 oz. of room temperature water. In  tea linen or ta ball, combine all the ingredients for th tea base. Brew in the room temperature water for 10 minutes, agitating from time to time. Remove the sachet/ball.

In a shaker, combine 3 1/2 oz. of tea base, vodka and agave nectar. Dry shake until the agave dissolves. Pour into a glass over ice and gentry swirl to chill. Top with ginger beer and gently swirl again. Garnish with a fresh ginger slice.

Wise Cocktails and The Owl’s Brew Tea: The Owl’s Brew

We’re not quite ready to give up on summer yet, so today we’re sharing a favorite shoot that captures the laid back elegance of wine country. The vine shaded veranda of an elegant villa set the scene for a gorgeous shoot that invites you to sit back, sip a glass of chilled wine, and take a moment to indulge.

Welcomed guests were invited to sit at the grand King’s Table set with our patterned Tangier Water linen, overlaid with our striped Safi Runner. The mix of patterns was executed with the same blend of soft teal and green hues, offset by crisp white chairs and aqua napkins. Our patterned pillows created an inviting seat at each chair.

Michael Daigian Design drew from that soft palette to create a living runner with driftwood and succulents. Buttery yellow tulips and ranunculus, baby pink rosebuds, and spiky thistles added sweet, summery to the water-inspired tabletop, while bunches of grapes and trailing vines perfectly captured the spirit of wine country.

For all you lovers of our classic black and white striped Broadway linens out there – have no fear! We’re debuting its gorgeous replacement, our chic Spade Stripe today! To celebrate, we teamed with Hey Design Lady to create Kate Spade event inspiration with chic stripes, polka dots, sequins, and bright flowers!

To create a classic Kate Spade inspired table, we paired our new Spade Stripe in Black and White with our adorable polka dotted Domino Napkins. To capture the bright, preppy style of Kate Spade, Hey Design Lady created centerpieces of bright pink and yellow flowers in modern, square vessels, and added a hint of candlelight from votives with gold stripes and glitter. A gold sequin napkin ring hinted at what was to come!

For a fun and modern bar, we teamed the Spade Stripe Navy and White in a table runner with our Paris Gold sequins. Adorable cocktail straws in blue and white stripes echoed the pattern of the runner, and glittering washi tape flags picked up the sequins!

Is there anything better than getting an excuse to redecorate? Our Emeryville showroom got a makeover for spring, with pastels and prints that are perfect for the season! Showroom partner Bright Event Rentals provided us with some amazing tabletop details and furniture to style with some of our patterned linens on display.

The softer pastel hues that we chose to display are perfect for spring, but that doesn’t mean that we had to go traditional for our showroom! Our Anthropologie-esque Brighton Periwinkle unites a swirling, paisley-inspired print with a soft palette of pale blue, violet, and chartreuse. To create a modern, relaxed look that’s perfect for an al fresco wine country dinner, we paired the pattern with tone on tone ivory china from Bright Event Rentals and our new Hemstitch Natural Napkins. Rustic wine barrel hurricane lanterns filled in for a centerpiece, while blue glasses and frosted purple votives added colored accents that tied in with the hues in the print.

Double table runners have become one of our favorite new trends, and this modern industrial table is a perfect example. The shifting blues and yellow stripes of our Nantucket Bay runners added a bold accent to the clean lines of the table decor – modern, square place settings, hurricane lanterns, and small potted herbs for a hint of green. The weathered wood table and metal stools added a great, industrial edge to the look!

Our last table is also the most traditional – the medallion design of our Kate Wedgwood linen is a large-scale but elegant print, so clean and simple eggshell place settings were the perfect pairing. In keeping with the upscale al fresco theme of the showroom, rustic wood lanterns and moss balls added an outdoorsy touch.
